Carcase Competition
The Scottish Texel Sheep Breeders Club held annual carcase competition
at Wishaw Abattoir on Wednesday 1st December 2010.
Due to the bad weather
there was fewer lambs forward but
the quality was exceptional.

Flock Competition
The Scottish Texel Sheep Breeders Club held it's annual Flock
Competition last week. Very ably judged by Alex Gray of the Langside
Flock. At the presentation dinner 80 members
and
friends enjoyed dinner and the excellent after dinner speech from
Archie
Gilbert.

Annual Stock Judging
The Club held its annual stock judging on Monday 1st November at
Lanark Agricultural Centre. The judge for the evening was Robert
Hamilton of the Crewburn Flock. He judged 8 classes of top quality
stock from Cambwell, Boat, Easterseat, Collielaw, Parkhouse, Carlinside,
Garngour/Teiglum and Boghouse.

2010 Club Show & Sale
The Club held its Annual Show and Sale on 15th - 16th
September at Lanark Auction Market.
Judge for the day was Jim Black
(Corrie Flock) who found his champion in a Gimmer from R. Barr
Cossans, Fife by Castlecairn Oh Mighty and out of a ewe by Halbeath
Maverick.
Reserve - Susan Campbell & Cameron Jackson - Damside
- by Kelso Pavarotti and out of a ewe by Cowal Kintyre.
Top price
for the day - for the second year in a row - was from the Tapanui
Flock from K Jarvie from Cherryfield Perth. A Livery Predator son
from a Tophill sired ewe.

Scottish Club Jubilee Trophy
The Scottish Texel Sheep Breeders Club introduced the Jubilee
Trophy for the 25th Anniversary which was competed for over
6 shows during the summer.

Scottish Club Flock Open Day – Midlock Texels
The club is indebted to the Wight family Midlock for hosting the
open day on Sunday 15th August 2010. Over 140 people attended what
was an exceptional show of stock on a glorious day, you couldn’t
ask for more; with great hospitality as well it really was a
great day.
