Scottish Texel Sheep Breeders Club
Young Members Bowling Event
The Scottish Texel Sheep Breeders Club held an open ten pin bowling
night on the 20th of January 2012. All young members and friends
were especially encouraged to come along and register their interest
in being part of a young Scottish Texel Club and make this ten
pin bowling evening the first of many events for the next generation!!!
We had a terrific night at the Hollywood bowl at Coatbridge with
45 attending 17 if which were young members ready to be founding
members of the young club!!
The competition was great fun too with many high scores and one
or two not so high!!
We had a small presentation at the end of the bowling and congratulations
go the winning adult of the evening Gordon Murdie!
Chairman Kenny then had the distressing job of presenting the
booby prize (an out of date butternut squash) to his wife Lorna
for the lowest score of the evening!! Poor Lorna then had to unwrap
the aforementioned butternut squash in front of all!!!
It was all about the young club though and we had great pleasure
in presenting the winners with boxes of sweets and vouchers for
goody bags kindly donated by the Texel society. The results were
as follows:-
1st James Hamilton CARJASCO TEXELS
2nd Robert Harvie BUCHTKNOWE TEXELS
3rd James Gray SCROGTONHEAD TEXELS
4th Robbie Orr WALSTON TEXELS
5th Caroline Hamilton CARJASCO TEXELS
Other young members attending were Nicola Gibb, Rusha Texels -
Bruce and Alistair McKerrow, Champany Texels - Alasdair and Amy
Allan, Cauldcoats Texels - Scott Hamilton, Carjasco Texels - Sarah
Ferguson, Nemphlar Texels - Grace and Hugh Reid , Meadowvale Texels
- Robbie and Emma Orr, Walston Texels - Robert Harvie, Buchtknowe
Texels - Amy and Kim Laird , Cambwell Texels and James, Billy and
Scott Gray of Scrogtonhead Texels.
Great to see all who came along this night and we look forward
to more events starting with a Stock judging event on Sunday the
10th of June at Lanark Market, so all interested keep this date
free especially all young members unable to come to the bowling! |
