Welcome

The British Texel Sheep Society is the UK’s largest pedigree sheep society, based at Stoneleigh Park, home of the Royal Agricultural Society’s Exhibition Centre near Warwick, in the heart of England.

The Texel breed is famed for its exceptional carcass qualities, which has made the Texel the dominant terminal sire breed in the UK. In recent years the breed’s hardiness and adaptability has been recognised by upland and hill producers who use the Texel to their advantage by breeding store lambs and cross bred females and these increasingly replace traditional hill breeds with a more marketable product.

The Society provides pedigree registration and a range of marketing services to its 2,200 strong member base in all regions of the United Kingdom of Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
