Texel Sheep exported to Bulgaria
Aubrey and Sue Andrew of the Miserden flock are celebrating having
exported a batch of shearling ewes, along with a ram to Bulgaria
to join the farming enterprise of Adrian Thayler, a British farmer
now settled in Bulgaria.

Mr Thayler approached the Andrews early in 2011 and visited the
Miserden flock several times to select the stock, with selection
based on growth rate index and ease of lambing.
Heading up the consignment was a son of Miserden Orient Express,
with Orient Express excelling in both traits. He was joined by
seven unrelated shearling ewes.
The sheep have thrived since their arrival in Bulgaria and Mr Thayler
is now eagerly awaiting his first lambing with British Texels in
Bulgaria. He plans to expand his flock with further importations
in 2012.
