Science into Practice – developing a sustainable sheep industry
The Society is fully committed to undertake activities for the
advancement of Science. Such as engaging with research institutes
to ensure the breed maintains performance and desirable functional
traits. The research initiatives that society has been involved
with in recent times include the collaboration with researchers
to improve various functions of the breed as well as develop management
tools for breeders to assist in the development of their flocks.
The ultimate aim is to ensure that our breed continues to add value
and enhance the production efficiency of the UK sheep Industry.
