Second highest price of the day went to Andrew Fyffe, Omagh when, late in the sale, his Glenside Lion King son, Fairywater Olympian, changed hands for 4200gns joining the Springhill flock of John Foster, Castlederg. The Millar’s flock, Coleraine followed on from their success at both the NI and Scottish Premiere sales realising a price of 3000 gns for their 4th placed open class ram lamb, a Mellorvale Masterpiece son and full brother to their Balmoral Male Champion 2008, while their Reserve Show Champion sold for 1300gns
Alistair Gault, Newtownabbey, showed a super pen of lambs taking 1st place in the recorded Ram Class with yet another Douganhill McFly lamb which the judge later chose as his Cydectin Show Champion. This lamb sold to Southern Breeders for 1700gns while his pen mate, and 2nd placed lamb in the Open Class, again a McFly son, sold to 1600gns. Trade peaked in the shearling ring with a Brague bred ram presented on behalf of the late James Morgan, Jerrettspass, at 1050gns, while the 1st placed Shearling ram shown by John Watson, Annacloy, sold to 800gns and John Foster’s 2nd placed shearling selling to 780gns.
There was excellent trade for good females with a Hexel Mofo daughter selling to 1000gns from the pen of Pat Garrivan, this gimmer joins the Kerryhill flock of Jas Adams, while the female Champion a Glenside Lion King daughter shown by John Currie, Ballymena joins the Ballyrussell flock owned by Mary Clarke, Belfast for 900gns.The Mullan Bros from Limavady sold their 2nd placed gimmer a Straidarren Jack Ass ewe, to 840gns Ram Lambs Sold to an average
of £454, Shearling Rams to an average of £390, and Shearling Ewes
