| Top price of the day went to GLENSIDE who
sold for 1200gns |
Having topped the previous week’s female sale at Carlisle, John
Forsyth, Lochlands, Maybole, once again collected the highest price,
at the Texel Sheep Society and Solway and Tyne Texel Breeders’
Club show and sale of in-lamb females, at Borderway Mart, on December
12th.
Selling at 1200gns, was a gimmer from Mr Forsyth’s Glenside flock,
by Glenside Lion King, and out of a Tullagh bred ewe by Knock Impulse.
She sold, in lamb, to J Winter, Clickham Farm, Appleby in Westmorland,
Cumbria.

for 900gns. |
At 900gns, the champion, a one-crop ewe from Mrs L Stuart’s Denty
flock at Castle Douglas, sold to Brian McTaggart, for the Douganhill
flock, also Castle Douglas. That one is by Glenside Lachlan, out
of a Knock Idaho-sired ewe, and sold in lamb to Humeston Outback.
At 850gns, J Winter also took home a Milnbank Moneymate-sired
gimmer, from the Denty flock. She is out of a Denty Hercules daughter
and sold due to Humeston Outback.
Averages:
11 ewes £280.64
63 gimmers £263.83.
