Willie Knock and his sons Andrew and Graham had a very successful reduction sale
at Carlisle when they sold 80 Flock Ewes and Gimmers to average £993 a piece
to gross £79,540.
Ewes sold to a top of 5,500gn to David McKerrow – Nochnary, Fife,
for a 4 crop Tophill Joe daughter.
A further Tophill Joe daughter sold at 2,000gns to Welsh buyer,
Mr Davis, Pontypool. Another Welsh buyer, Mr Owen, Colwyn Bay,
bought a 2 crop Glenside My Lord daughter at 3,000gns. While a
2 crop Tophill Joe daughter sold for 2,000gns to Alan Alston, Drumchapel,
Brechin.
The top priced Gimmer sold for 3,000gns to Graham Morrison, Deveronvale.
She was sired by the 12,00gn ram Combs Valley Nistleroy. Mr Davidson,
Muir House, Lockerbie bought an Anglezarke Nimrod daughter for
2000gns.
