Clinterty Ronaldo scores the winning goal at Lanark!

Judge George Howie was met by the usual large audience that gathers annually ring side at Lawrie & Symington’s Lanark mart for the pre Sale show of the Texel Society Flag ship Scottish National Sale.

George wasted little time with a confident and clinical approach to his judging selection. The audience kept on their toes as he proceeded to select Brian Buchan’s Clinterty Ronaldo Lot 429 as his Champion. Ronaldo the 1st prize lamb from the open class, a Kelso Oxygen Grand Son, and sired by a home bred tup Clinterty par One which continues to breed very well for Brian. Dam is an Ettrick Mighty Mouse daughter. Brian said “It’s the best lamb he’s ever bred at Clinterty; he’s an ET brother to the classy ewe lamb sold earlier in the year to Deveronvale for £9,000”.

Georges Female Champion went to Peter Woofs Stainton flock, which stood out a mile as a very classy female that has real depth and character, with plenty of gigot. Lot 1035 one of two in the Stainton pen this year, sired by Gib Farm Moose the Moochie a Cornerstone Isaac son. Peter was delighted with the selection, “its one of those rosettes that we all aim for, but never expect! The two Gimmers in our pen have outstanding character”.
