Inaugural Sale of Dutch Texels

At the above Private Show & Sale, which was organised by Sylvia
Rawlings, (Wiston Flock), a long term, very enthusiastic and successful
Breeder of Dutch Texels, very satisfactory clearance rates & averages
were achieved. The event was supported by 11 vendors from throughout
the UK.
The most successful individual vendor was Mrs Rawlings herself;
she sold her top two Shearling Rams for 2,200 & 2250gns respectively,
while her imported stud Ram, Denhoorn Lighthouse, fetched 1,450gns.
Her Gimmers also sold well with a home bred Wiston Gimmer by Wiston
Native Blue selling at 860gns, while imported Dutch Gimmers from
Wiston sold to 700gns.
A Gimmer from Messrs Barrow’s, (Greenwood
Flock), also sold at 700gns.
