Tullagh Gimmer Tops Texel Sale

John and Richard Currie, Ballymena topped the NI Texel Club Elite Gimmer sale held at the La Mon Hotel as part of the National AGM & Social Weekend. A Garngour Patriot daughter with Annan Jewel in her pedigree she sold to out- going chairman Gordon Gray for £3,150. She comes in lamb to Strathbogie Stud which the Tullagh flock purchased in partnership at Lanark this year. He is a son of Glenside Razzle Dazzle who was awarded “ 2011 1st Season Sire of the Year” back in September.

Martin & Cyril Millar’s flock followed closely behind with a Mellor Vale Masterpiece daughter from a Corrie Lancelot dam selling to £2,940. This smart gimmer, a full sister to Millar’s Outstanding, was sold in-lamb to Milnbank Special One, which was purchased in Lanark 2011 for 25,000gns. She travels to Aberdeenshire and the Strathbogie flock of James Innes and sons.

Other leading prices included a Kelso Oxygen daughter from the Ballygroogan flock of Wilkinson Brothers. She was purchased for £1900 by new breeder Richard Reynolds, Co Down and comes in –lamb to Glenside Razzle Dazzle. Also hitting the £1,900 mark was a Baltier Nailer daughter from the Ballynahone flock of Richard Henderson. She joins the Bregagh flock of Leonard Linton in lamb to Springhill Stone.
