The Whiteford pair of Texel cross lambs which lifted the Butchers top prize went on to be placed reserve over-all in the Supreme Championship. Weighing 46kgs apiece the pair of ewe lambs sold for £600, having also taken Supreme Championship honours at the Carlisle Expo Show earlier in the season.

The Butchers Heavy Weight Lamb champions came from Thomas C Whiteford and his Middle Texel flock, from Brampton in Cumbria. Son, James was presented with the trophy from Scott Brown, representing his mother, Frances, who donates the Challenge award. The pair also received the Intervet Rose Bowl.
