Objectives

• To increase flock connectedness, strengthening the quality of Signet breeding evaluations.

• To provide a short-term injection of elite genetics into a breed, with the additional benefits if these sires are widely used and their genes retained in the population.

• To increase the profile of recording within Breeds and Societies

The programme is open for nominations you are invited to nominate a ram for participation in the programme. The programme aims to increase flock connectedness, and the use of elite genetics, within a breed. The document provides details of the programme rules and is worth £2,500 per ram to cover costs of semen collection etc.

If you would like to nominate a ram (or rams) for consideration, please send details to Carol.davis@eblex.ahdb.org.uk (0116 3432161) by Thursday1 September 2011. An email or letter giving details of the ear number and name of the ram/s should be submitted before the closing deadline.
